Only a few basic components are needed to make the best pizzas: flour, cheese, yeast, salt, and tomato. And a scorching oven, too.
Although you can create a decent pizza in a regular oven, you might want to use a home pizza oven if you want a crust that is wonderfully chewy but burned. It will improve your pizzas and hold a lot of heat while you bake them, allowing you to produce dozens—yes, dozens—of pizzas in one night.
Since 2020, we have evaluated ten outdoor pizza ovens, and we believe that the Ooni Koda 16 Gas Powered Pizza Oven is the greatest choice for most home cooks. This oven can attain the ideal pizza temperature in less than 20 minutes because of its large baking surface and excellent heat dispersion, making it forgiving and simple to use.
With a simple dial turn, this portable outdoor pizza oven illuminates and can make an absurdly large number of pizzas on a single gas tank.
The Ooni Koda 16 Gas Powered Pizza Oven is the perfect combination of portability and convenience of use. It is simple to launch and rotate your pizzas because of its unusually large opening and spacious 16¾-by-16¾-inch baking surface. You could easily take the Koda 16 on a (luxury) automobile camping trip because, at 40 pounds, it is rather substantial but not unnecessarily so.
The oven reached such intense temperatures during my tests (and in less than 30 minutes) that I had to lower the dial to produce flawless pizzas with leopard spots. The propane-powered flame of the Ooni Koda 16 is steady. Additionally, compared to other ovens we have tested, the distinctive L-shaped burner that runs down the left and back edges of the stone produces a particularly balanced heat map with fewer unexpected hot areas.
The Ooni Koda 16 still requires turning pizzas a few times, but that is just part of the fun of making pizza. Although this model costs more than smaller portable pizza ovens, it bakes pizza equally as nicely as more expensive gas ovens.

The Breville Intelligent Oven Despite having a similar appearance to a toaster oven, a pizzaiolo is made specifically for baking pizza. With a maximum temperature of 750 °F—much hotter than what a domestic oven can achieve—it achieves it exceptionally effectively.
The Pizzaiolo is an indoor countertop device featuring several pre-programmed cooking features, in contrast to our other pizza oven choices, which are designed for outdoor use. Along with the accompanying equipment (a metal peel and a deep-dish pizza pan with a removable handle), it also features a timer and accurate temperature control.
Typically costing several hundred dollars more than the Ooni Koda 16, the Pizzaiolo oven is an expensive, specialized device. However, this is a fantastic alternative if you are passionate about creating delicious pizza at home and do not want an outdoor oven.
